Project Text

This project was a schematic feasibility study for expanding a ubiquitous 1950's ranch house in Charlottesville, VA. The strategy involved creating an "open" plan on the existing level and adding a second level addition for bedrooms. The study included various design options for the roof to allow northern light into the common spaces.  Option #2 inverts the industrial roof truss and allows light to flood the space.
